    About the Prize
    The Karachi Literature Festival (KLF) Non-Fiction Prize of Rs 250,000, introduced in 2011, promotes excellence in non-fiction by awarding this prize. The jury for the Prize includes Pakistan's eminent critics, writers, and academics.

    Eligibility Criteria
    Books submitted for consideration for the KLF—Pepsi Non-Fiction Prize should meet the following criteria:

    • Must be original works of non-fiction written in English
    • Must have been written by Pakistani/Pakistani-origin authors
    • Must have been published during 2016 and 2017
    • Any publisher/Pakistan origin author from around the world can submit not more than five books
    • No anthologies or multi-author edited volumes are eligible
    Entry of Books
    Publishers and authors wishing to enter books for the above Prize are required to submit four copies of each book.

    2018 KARACHI LITERATURE FESTIVAL-GETZ PHARMA BEST FICTION BOOK PRIZE

    About the Prize

    The Karachi Literature Festival (KLF) Best Fiction Book Prize seeks to promote excellence in fiction written in the English language. The author of the best novel or short story collection will be awarded Rs 300,000. The jury for the Prize comprises eminent Pakistani critics, writers, and scholars.

    Eligibility Criteria
    Books submitted for consideration for the KLF—Getz Pharma Fiction Prize should meet the following criteria:

    • Must be original works of fiction written in English
    • Must have been written by Pakistani/Pakistani-origin authors
    • Must have been published during 2016 and 2017
    • Authors can submit their entries directly for consideration
    • Any publisher from around the world can also submit entries
    • No anthologies or multi-author edited volumes are eligible
    • No English translations of books written originally in any other language are eligible
    • Critics/readers can suggest books they think are eligible for the Prize
    Entry of Books
    Publishers and authors wishing to enter books for the above Prize are required to submit four copies of each book.

    2018 KARACHI LITERATURE FESTIVAL PEACE PRIZE

    About the Prize
    The Karachi Literature Festival Peace Prize, by now a renowned yearly award, is jointly organized by the Consulate General of Germany in Karachi and the Karachi Literature Festival. We live in an age where the struggle for peace and tolerance is one of the most pressing and urgent topics almost everywhere in the world, especially in the Middle East. The Peace Prize's aim is to award and highlight authors who through their books, lives, and commitment to the noble causes of tolerance, interreligious relations, and peace contribute to a better world and a more harmonious environment—be it in small scale in the city or on a larger scale. The jury for the Prize comprises eminent Pakistani academics as well as the German Consul General and Director of Goethe-institute, the German cultural centre.

    Eligibility Criteria
    Books submitted for consideration for the Karachi Literature Festival Peace Prize should meet the following criteria:

    • Must be original works of fiction/non-fiction written in English or translated into English from another language
    • Must have been written by Pakistanis/persons of Pakistani origin, or persons of any other nationality, resident in Pakistan
    • Must have been published during 2016 and 2017
    • Any publisher from around the world can submit entries
    • No anthologies or multi-author edited volumes are eligible
    • Critics/readers can suggest books they think are eligible for the Prize
    Entry of Books
    Publishers wishing to enter books for the above Prize are required to submit eight copies of each book.
